IT'LL GROW BACK
Classic Punk At It's Best!

"Wow", is all I could say after finally witnessing an excellent performance by It'll Grow Back, Thursday night at Tokyo Gardens!

Aside from going to a Rockabilly show or two in the past,  I haven't seen many bands perform at this small downtown venue. This band was definitely worth taking the drive on a freezing cold Fresno night!

First of all, let me just say that frontman, Rev. JT Rocket, is definitely THE MAN when it comes to onstage showmanship in the vein of classic punk rock!

Picture a cup of Henry Rollins (Black Flag/Henry Rollins Band) with a shot of Iggy Pop (Stooges) sprinkled with a hint of Johnny Rotten (Sex Pistols) and you have Rev. JT Rocket.

With all of the melodic boring "punk rock" dominating the mainstream airwaves these days, you rarely get to hear or see a band such as It'll Grow Back--who have managed to retain the punk angst that originally set the genre apart from mainstream rock in the first place.

Instead of watching another punk band with its lead singer steadily planted and screaming into a microphone all night, it was refreshing and fun to watch JT climbing on chairs, dancing and rolling about on the ground while belting out song after less-than-2-minute song--in true punk fashion.

And the music? The bassist, drummer and guitarist were ON IT on every track!  This was definitely old school punk with an It'll Grow Back kick to it.

If you like GOOD punk rock or would like to know what GOOD punk rock sounds like...Check out It'll Grow Back!
